Environments

To understand an environment is to observe what animates it. Each space and species expresses itself through a diversity of flows. A greenhouse, an urban farm, a garden, a kitchen garden, a shared space do not have the same requirements.

The cycle of the seasons and the rhythm of the organisms that regulate it, the resources that circulate, the substrates that support them and the disruptions that stir them.

Our approach is to observe, measure and interpret this spectrum to assemble the systems suited to each context.

Modelling the interactions between organisms lets us design ecosystems able to meet the needs of those who compose, cultivate and inhabit them.

We draw spaces where each function serves a purpose: producing, nourishing, regenerating, learning and passing on. We turn flows and constraints into coherent systems, designed to evolve and adapt in balance with their environments.

Our aim is to bring together nature, technique and people in a resilient, lasting architecture, to renew our relationship with the environment.

The design of living systems must integrate physical, biological and human constraints to organise, over the long term, the interactions between the actors of these spaces.

Yet the architecture of these places only takes on meaning at the moment of their use, when life takes hold of the continuity and harmony between the creation and its environment.
